Dia Mirza to play lady Dutt in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic!

We know that the veteran actor Sanjay Dutt’s relationship with daddy Sunil Dutt’s story is a tale which needs to be told, and film maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra believes there could be no one better than Dia Mirza who is suited for the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s on-screen life mate, Manyata Dutt. Mirza has confirmed that she is on-board with the cast and crew of the much-awaited biopic. It was known that she is a part of the cast list, and now the beans have been spilled by Chopra himself.

“Dia Mirza is doing the role of Manyata,” Chopra told IANS at the ongoing Jaipur Literature Festival, 2017.

“It is a biopic and it is more than a biopic too because we expect people to learn something from it,” added Chopra.

The biopic is aimed at exploring the relationship between Sanjay Dutt and his late father Sunil Dutt, who will be brought to life by veteran actor Paresh Rawal, with Ranbir Kapoor embracing the Munna Bhai persona on screen!

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has a professional history with Dutt, where the team has previously brought masterpieces to the box office such as “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.”, “Eklavya: The Royal Guard” and “Mission Kashmir”. Post Sanjay’s release from the Yerwada central jail last year, he used to sit down with Chopra and Hirani and used to share intimate life experiences with the two. They thought that it could make a good film.

They are eyeing the month of December for the release.

“I don’t make pictures depending on the release date. I prefer to make one picture in four years than four pictures in one year,”, said Chopra, who is also said to work on a film based on Kashmiri Pandits.

When asked about the epic Raees-Kaabil clash which is set to happen this 25th, Chopra said  “Both (Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan) are my friends and I hope that both the films do well.”

With Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt and the ever-adorable Dia Mirza as his on-screen better half, the excitement for the upcoming biopic has reached a new Zenith!
