The team of Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming adrenaline-pumping thriller Baazaar unveiled Saif Ali Khan’s first look from the film in a poster which read “Yahan paisa Bhagwaan nahi, par Bhagwaan se kam bhi nahin”. The film, based on the fast-paced world of the stock market will see Saif essay the role of a businessman.

The latest news surrounding the film is that Chitrangada Singh will be essaying the role of Mandira, Saif’s wife in the film.

Initially, there were reports that Prachi Desai was the initial choice, who was later replaced by Singh. In response to this, producer Nikkhil Advani was quick to clarify that Chitrangada was always the first choice.

With regards to this film, Nikkhil said “I’m happy that the cast is looking so exciting. We have Saif, Chitrangda, Radhika Apte and Rohan Mehra (making his acting debut). The shoot has just begun and will be wrapped up by mid-August while the film is slated for a December release. Prachi has expressed interest in working with my production house but that is for another project. As far as the role of Mandira in Baazaar is concerned, Gauravv K Chawla, my director, came up with the idea of casting Chitrangda.”

Given that Chitrangada will be coming back to the big screen after a gap of two years, we wondered if this could be considered her comeback film, to which Advani replied “I won’t call it a comeback but just the fact that she hasn’t done anything for quite some time was instrumental in us considering her because it’s a powerful character that’s silent and simmering, like a volcano about to erupt. Casting her opposite Saif makes the film about strong actors and characters.

Saif has already begun shooting for Baazaar, which is slated to release this December.
