The trailer of Thackeray fetched more than 10 million views and this feat is nothing less than impressive. This biopic on the founder of the Shiv Sena Party, the late Bal Thackeray, is all set to release on January 25, 2019. But as you know, the date will also see the releases of two other films, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India. It seems the makers of both the films may have to postpone the dates, why, you may ask!
The secretary of Shiv Sena, Bala Lokare, took to his Facebook account and clearly stated they won’t allow any other film to open in the cinemas on the same day as Thackeray. Have a look right here:-
It seems the makers of the biopic want the film to rake in as much moolah at the box-office as possible, and don’t want its potential at the ticket windows to be dampened by any competition. Is this the right way to function as filmmakers or another example of hoodlums taking law into their own hands?
