A lot of strong rumors in Tinsel town suggested that Arjun Kapoor was the first and the strongest contender for the remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy. However, anything can happen in the movie world and exactly that has happened, reports have confirmed that the Ishaqzaade star is no longer a part of the remake.
The man who has been confirmed for the Arjun Reddy remake is Shahid Kapoor, and the makers are really excited to have him on board for the film. This is what they had to say after signing Shahid for the project, “The film is scheduled to go on floors in July and the team is looking for an actress opposite Shahid. While the locations are yet to be finalised, the film will be shot in India and Abroad. We are super excited about Shahid Kapoor taking on this character.” The film is being produced by Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani.
After the success of Wanted in 2009, there was a remake rage in Bollywood, and if this remake turns out to be equally successful, it could actually pave way for more Telugu and Tamil remakes in the future. Currently, the Haider star is busy with Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which is releasing on the 31st of August, 2018. Reports also suggest he might don the character of a boxer in the Airlift director, Raja Krishna Menon’s next.
