After Padmavati, Ranveer Singh gets into the Gully Boy mode!

Since the Padmavati trailer surfaced, we have been DYING to catch a glimpse of Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in the epic drama, but due to some (stupid) reason or the other, it doesn’t look like the film will be hitting theatres anytime in 2017.

But, it looks like at least out of the three leads, Singh has presumably chosen to move on in a BIG way by starting his prep for Zoya Akhtar’s next, Gully Boy.

What does this post tell you? This means that Ranveer Singh has begun prepping to slip into the character of the real-life Dharavi-based street rapper Naezy for his biopic. As you can see, the script that Singh has in his hand at the moment is the 15th draft of the story and is co-written by Reema Katgi along with director Akhtar.

The film will also feature Alia Bhatt playing the female lead. Bhatt Jr, who has reportedly returned from her post-Raazi London vacation, is also expected to catch up on the new draft of the Gully Boy story, along with beginning to prep for Bhramastra, in which she has been pitted opposite Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor.

Looks like all the rumors of Gully Boy being postponed (and as per some reports, even shelved) will be quashed for good.

As many remember, Ranveer was reportedly consulting a psychiatrist to get out of his Alauddin Khilji mental frame, so we hope that he doesn’t go into Naezy so deep that he raps his way to a shrink again. Also, we would definitely not mind if Singh clung on to Naezy for a long time!
