Akshay Kumar made a smashing debut in the Southern film industry with the gigantic blockbuster, 2.0! Battling Superstar Rajinikanth in this Shankar magnum opus, the actor, portraying the role of a wronged professor, who takes it upon himself to save the birds from mobile phone radiations, Kumar nearly stole the show. In fact, a lot of the people from the audiences and critics, empathized more with Pakshirajan (his name in the film) than Chitti and Dr. Vaseegaran.
And now, if all goes well, he may reunite with the maverick filmmaker for his next biggie, Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. And this time as well, he’s likely to be the antagonist. A source says, “Both, Ajay Devgn and Kamal, were keen to collaborate on this film. However, for various reasons, including his prior commitments, Ajay couldn’t come on board. Akshay and Shankar, who became good friends by the time 2.0 was wrapped, had reportedly spoken about working together again when something suitable came their way. And looks like that has happened soon after the film’s release.”
Let’s hope another massive casting coup is successfully accomplished!
