Aamir Khan, who’s known to be a perfectionist, went terribly wrong with his last release, Thugs Of Hindostan. The audiences had massive expectations from this giant period drama but it fizzled after a historic Day 1. Talking about the shocking failure, Khan, at the Cinestaan India Storyteller’s Event yesterday, said, “I take full responsibility for Thugs.. not working with the audience. I think we went wrong. We certainly tried our best. We didn’t leave any stone unturned in our efforts. But somewhere, we went wrong.”
He added, “There are some people who have liked the film, whom we would like to thank. We are happy that they liked it. But they are in the minority. Most of the people haven’t liked the film, and we have realized this. So, surely somewhere we went wrong and I take full responsibility for it. I also want to apologize to the audience that turned up to watch my film with a lot of expectations. I couldn’t entertain them this time. We had tried our best. But the ones who went with expectations didn’t enjoy it. So, I am feeling very bad that we were not able to entertain them.”
Well, that’s quite admirable that a star of such stature has publicly acknowledged the failure of his film and also taken the onus of the same!
