Ranveer Singh could very well be the star of 2018. After winning accolades from all the quarters for his deliciously hideous performance in Padmaavat, he’s all set to get into the mode of an over-the-top and unapologetically corrupt cop in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. However, the one role that may require the actor the maximum prep and meticulousness is Kabir Khan’s 83’, a biopic on Kapil Dev, the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team.
In fact, the Indian Team’s victory in the 1983 World Cup is said to be the reason behind the game’s rise in the country. And now, it has been revealed who will be playing the role of the team’s coach. This actor has already collaborated with Kabir Khan twice over, once in New York (2009) and then in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). Got it? Yes, it’s none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In an interview, when asked the director, he gave quite a politically correct answer, “It’s too early to comment so I won’t confirm or deny anything.”
Hope the news is true as this would be a great casting decision. The film is all set to release on the 30th of August, 2019.
