When Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan disappointed their fans on Diwali!

Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are three of the biggest stars both domestically and globally! They have re-defined success and popularity ever since they have forayed into the world of Hindi Cinema. However, they have had their share of failures too. Well, the nation just celebrated Diwali and it’s the best time for the cine-goers to storm into the cinemas. Although it’s mostly a SRK dominated festive period, we have also seen Aamir and Salman come on the occasion. Alas, the two of them have seldom succeeded on this particular holiday season, and even Shah Rukh has failed a few times. Here’s when the three Khans disappointed their fans on Diwali:-

1. Shah Rukh Khan- Asoka (2001) & Ra. One (2011)

SRK is synonymous with Diwali. Right from Baazigar (1993) to DDLJ (1995) to Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), the list is endless and so are the box-office records. However, the actor failed to hit the bulls-eye twice. Both his major releases- Asoka (2001) and Ra.One (2011) failed to attract the desired numbers at the ticket windows. If the former unsuccessfully narrated the take of King Ashok, the latter was panned for its unimpressive visual effects and unexciting storytelling.

2. Aamir Khan- Thugs Of Hindostan (2018)

Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together for the first time was enough for the audiences to buy the tickets for this period drama. However, when they saw it, they were drastically disappointed. Neither the film soared in its plot nor in the action. It turned out to be a 164-minute long exercise in futility and frivolousness. And despite shattering all previous records and collecting over 50 crores on Day 1, this YRF venture is now a resounding flop. And Khan’s first failure since Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005), incidentally a period film too!

3. Salman Khan- Kyon Ki (2005), Jaan-E-Mann (2006) and Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009)

Salman Khan soars every time he comes on Eid, alas, Bhai always gets unlucky when he has a release on Diwali. His stint with failure on Diwali began with Priyadarshan’s Kyon Ki in 2005, which crashed at the ticket windows. This continued for three more times as Jaan-E-Mann (2006), Saawariya (2007) and Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009), all failed one after another. Guess these films may have clicked had they released on EID!
