6 ways Shah Rukh Khan proved to be a reel+real life hero!

On an auspicious day like the great Shah Rukh Khan‘s birthday, we take a dive deeper into his life! Going beyond the Raj Malhotra, Don and Kabir Khan characters, we map out the true humanitarian this King Khan is. The good that goes unnoticed, we bring to light –

He has a big heart!

He has donated Rs 1 Crore to Nanavati hospital in case any of his crew members were to fall ill due to unforeseen reasons. Covering all health and medical care for his crew members no matter how fatal.

Always willing to help those in need.

SRK adopted multiple villages during NDTV’s show, Greenathon in Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara, to provide them with electricity under the solar energy harnessing project in its title initiative ‘Light A Billion Lives’

SRK gives without measure!

He donates during major natural disasters and calamities. He not only donates but also performs at fund raisers. For Uttarkand floods, he donated a part of first day earnings of ‘Chennai Express’ (Rs 33 lakhs), plus performed in a Star plus fund raiser. And it doesn’t just stop there! He gave Rs 1 crore for Chief Minister’s relief fund during Chennai floods and even contributed his share during the Maharashtra drought. He was said to have donated Rs 3 crores (as per a Tweet from a govt. body).

Every little victory counts!

Shah Rukh Khan also owns an IPL cricket team called ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’. Sources tell us that SRK donates the prize money earned in these games to a children’s hospital.

He’s been a philanthropist since his early days!

During the release of his film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, the rising superstar used to charge Rs 5000 per interview with media channels. He used the money strictly for charity purposes only. He would take the money in the form of cheques in favor of various NGO’s.

SRK stands up for those he loves!

An incident dated about four years back, where Shah Rukh lost his cool after having a heated argument with Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium’s watchman. The watchman went out of line and ill-treated Suhana (SRK’s daughter). He wasn’t worried about his public image or the rumors of him being drunk. His need to protect Suhana overtook everything and that is truly commendable!
