As we had reported earlier, the Indian box office got to have a breath of relief when Akshay Kumar announced that his upcoming flick, Pad Man will now release on the 9th of February, which means that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s long-awaited magnum opus, Padmaavat, will now have a solo release on the 25th of this month.
This indeed restored our faith in Bollywood as a united family of like-minded people where one is always ready to look out for the other. But now, let’s not forget that the film business is also a BUSINESS at the end of the day. And, if our Khabri Keeda is to be believed, it is mainly the business side of this clash that made Akki postpone his “superhero” flick.
As per KK, the Khiladi of Bollywood got a call from his distributors from up north, who warned him that should he release his film along with Bhansali’s epic drama, he too will lose out on a LOT of business, as because many moviegoers, while stepping out to watch the magnum opus, will be running the risk of being beaten to death by the members of the Karni Sena, who are still very much against the release of Padmaavat. So, this would also mean that the frightened audience could also let go of Akshay’s film too, and hence the postponement.
Well, we could clearly understand what really frightened Akshay about the idea of clashing with Padmaavat, since, apart from the fact that he is acting in the film, he’s also its producer.
What do you think about this? Do you think that Akki did the right thing? Let us know!
