They do say that it takes a considerable amount of time to build a reputation, but all it might take is a second for it all to go away and behave like none of it ever existed, and, if our Khabri Keeda is to be believed, that seems to be happening in the case of Jab Harry Met Sejal director Imtiaz Ali as of now.
Remember the time that we reported that after producers were left in two minds with the idea of having Padmaavat star and Ali’s Jab We Met actor, Shahid Kapoor as the leading man of a film that he has written, Imtiaz had approached Varun Dhawan to essay the lead? Well, turns out, as per KK, he has declined the film as politely as possible. Well, that’s the October star for you!
However, post that, reportedly, Imtiaz approached Varun’s Student Of The Year co-star, Sidharth Malhotra (out of all people!), who, as it turns out, had reportedly made up his mind even halfway through the narration of the script.
That being said, Imtiaz is still on a lookout for a leading man. We can understand that Shahid may not be a money maker as the solo lead in a big scale film, but why did Varun and Sidharth decline the script, that is if they even heard it at all? Is Jab Harry Met Sejal is to blame? Or, does the script need a rewriting?
