We were amongst the first ones to report to you that Tiger Shroff will bring back to life Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character of John Rambo for the official remake of the Rambo series, the details of which you will find Here.
But now, just a few hours ago, Tiger Shroff unveiled the first poster of Baaghi 2. And we must say, it looks bigger, badder and gorier than its prequel. But, it also bears an uncanny resemblance to John Rambo. Check it out for yourself.
In this, we see Tiger flaunting his muscular bareback, a bandana tied on one arm and holding a machine gun on the other and a chopper emerging for which he seems to be eagerly waiting. We can’t help ourselves but catapult back to that time in Rambo 3 where Stallone took down choppers like little flies in a scene where he is on a mission in Afghanistan.
We were wondering if THIS is the John Rambo project. But, then we saw the name of the director. Baaghi 2 is being directed by Ahmed Khan, whereas the rights of the John Rambo remake belong to Sidharth Anand, the one who directed Hrithik Roshan starrer Bang Bang and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno.
Now, this makes us ask a question. Is there a very fierce kind of internal competition happening in Bollywood between Sajid Nadiadwala and Sidharth Anand? Because one can safely assume that Sajid Nadiadwala must have got a whiff of the John Rambo news as well, and perhaps that’s why he decided to release the poster beforehand.
If the John Rambo project is still happening, why is he doing the same kind of role again? Is he looking forward to be stereotyped as the newest action hero on the block? Or if not, doesn’t he have a say as far as the kind of parts he wants to play is concerned?
