Why Gold will overpower Satyameva Jayate at the box-office?

Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate are all set to clash tomorrow at the box-office. Given it’s Independence Day, both the films are expected to take a thunderous start at the ticket windows. As far as the screen count is concerned, 60% of the cinemas have been booked by the makers of Gold whereas the remaining 40% have been allotted to Satyameva Jayate. So the Akshay Kumar-starrer is likely to dominate on the first day.

Secondly, Akshay Kumar is going through a golden phase of his career! Right from Airlift in 2016 to Pad Man in 2018, he has not only chosen niche subjects but also cleverly exploited his stardom to make them as commercially viable as possible. Now being addressed as the new age Manoj Kumar, he’s the actor who can be relied upon to tell stories, both known and untold, that not only aware and educate but also entertain and inspire. Gold, which is the story of India’s first Gold Medal, is one such film. And given the film’s promos, it seems it’s going to be a film full of goosebumps and adrenaline rushes.

Satyameva Jayate, on the other hand, is a wish-fulfillment vigilante thriller, but let’s be honest, it hardly offers anything we haven’t seen before! Right from the treatment to the dialogues to the execution of the material, it’s all screaming Gabbar Is Back, which starred Akshay Kumar only, and Shootout At Wadala, starring no one else but the heroes of this film. It seems to be like an old wine in a new bottle.

All in all, we are assured Akshay Kumar will win the box-office clash this time as well!

Stick to this space for the latest in Bollywood!
