TV Star Reem to play Malala in Amjad Khan film Gul Makai
Reem is a well-known child artist, who started her career at the age of 6. She won the best new talent award in 2010 for her lead role in ‘Devi‘. Now Reem Sheikh is all set to play the character of Pakistani activist and 2014’s Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai in the upcoming biopic Gul Makai.
Reem caught director Amjad Khan’s eye with her innocent face and spontaneous acting skill. According to Amjad Reem looks very much like Malala.
Reem went through a vigorous training process to correct her diction, her mannerisms, and body language to be like Malala.
She has worked in popular Indian TV shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Ashoka for respected channels like Star plus, Zee and Colors TV.
Reem has also shared the screen with Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in the film Wazir. She also won an award for Best Child Actor at the Colors Golden Petal Awards 2013.
