Shahid Kapoor’s Arjun Reddy finds a leading lady
It is raining debutants in 2018. Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday are all set to make their celluloid debuts with Kedarnath, Dhadak and Student Of The Year 2 respectively. Well, there’s one more debutante we reported about, who’s the second leading lady in Student Of The Year 2, Tara Sutaria. She has been confirmed as the lead heroine opposite Shahid Kapoor in the remake of Arjun Reddy.
After wrapping up the aforementioned film, starring Tiger Shroff in the lead, Tara will begin the film with Shahid Kapoor. A source, talking about the premise of the film, stated, “It follows Arjun’s anger issues after he suffers a heartbreak. The film was widely acclaimed and earned cult status in Telangana. Now, the premise will be adapted to a North Indian setting.”
Given the history of successful remakes in Hindi Cinema, from Wanted to Singham to Bodyguard to Rowdy Rathore, it won’t be surprising if this remake also turns out to be a money-spinner. On the work-front, Shahid is currently busy wrapping up Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which is scheduled to release on the 31st of August, 2018.
