Sanjay Leela Bhansali: No scenes between Rani Padmini and Khilji in Padmavati

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for bringing back the historic characters back on the big screen. His upcoming film Padmavati is also a historical drama, but ever since the film was announced it had been facing a lot of problems. The film has been facing protests from various communal groups, including Shree Rajput Karni Sena, for tampering historical facts.

Now Sanjay Leela Bhansali has rubbished the rumours of having any romantic dream sequence between Allauddin Khilji and Rani Padmini. He said “There is no interaction whatsoever between the characters played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh,”

A close source to the team said: “We’ve been going hoarse saying there is absolutely no dream sequence featuring Deepika and Ranveer. They haven’t shot together in ‘Padmavati’ for a single day. We don’t know who started this rumour of the two being together. It has caused monstrous mischief for the project and created havoc with Mr. Bhansali’s peace of mind.”

Recently Ranveer Singh had also clarified that he has not shot any scene with Deepika Padukone.

The film also stars Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh. Padmavati is slated to release on December 1 this year.
