The time has come when Tubelight director Kabir Khan will begin working on his upcoming web series “The Forgotten Army” which is something that Khan has been attempting to do since his documentary filmmaking days.
Speaking on the same, Kabir stated “For me, it’s not the story of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Everyone knows about him, but what about the soldiers in his army? What happened to them? That’s what the web series is about. It’s an epic and pans across six to eight episodes. Each episode will be around 40 minutes long so the total runtime would be almost equivalent to two feature films.”
There were rumors about Saif Ali Khan being approached to play the lead in the series, which the director promptly denied.
Kabir was quoted by a leading daily saying “There’s a very important female character in The Forgotten Army. The Azad Hind Fauj also had the only women fighting infantry unit in the history of wars. It was called the Rani Jhansi regiment. So the female character will be leading that unit in the web series,”
Shraddha has reportedly liked the idea of the series and is yet to take a call on the same. Although Parineeti Chopra is also in the race for the role, Khan is convinced that Shraddha fits the bill perfectly. As of now, Parineeti will be seen in Golmaal 3.
