Unintentionally or otherwise, the chairperson of Censor Board Of Film Certifications, Pahlaj Nihalani has NEVER failed to make headlines. From a critically acclaimed film like Lipstick Under My Burkha to a Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma entertainer like Jab Harry Met Sejal, he has had a problem with all of them.
Now, ahead of its release, the Certification Board had received the final cut of the Ranbir Kapoor–Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos. Although the film has been passed with zero cuts (Hurray for that!), it has received a U/A Certificate. The certification implies that this film, which was made by Anurag Basu ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN, cannot by watched by the young ones without their parents or guardians accompanying them.
A puzzled source close to Anurag Basu says “We wonder what the censor board saw in Jagga Jasoos that made it suitable for children only accompanied by an adult.”
Pahlaj Nihalani, who is always giving explanations for his decisions, defended his stance by saying “Let the film release. The world will see why we think it is necessary for children to be accompanied by an adult.”
Looks like Nihalani is quite confident about his stance. Only time will tell is his certification is justified or not.
The film is FINALLY set to release on coming Friday. Are you excited?
