As soon as one hears the name Padmavati in this day and age, the word controversy and Karni Sena almost instantaneously pop up in one’s mind. Given that all that has happened with the cast and crew off late (and of course, even with poor Sanjay Leela Bhansali), the makers have collectively shifted the release date and hit the screens in January 2018, somewhere around Saif Ali Khan’s dark comedy, Kaalakandi.
Speaking about a probable clash between the two, he said, “If Padmavati comes in [on that day], we will think of shifting our release date. I hope we don’t have to do that. Kaalakaandi is a film I am proud of.”
To this, he added, “It would have been nice to see Kaalakaandi releasing with Padmavati, as it shows that we have a film industry, which makes different kinds of movies. Recently, we saw Secret Superstar and Golmaal Again releasing on the same day and both films did well. Personally, I feel it’s a good time to have films releasing alongside one another. But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration,”
Well, Mr. Khan, a personal advice. DON’T EVEN THINK. Given that you make films that have stellar content but it’s almost always a clash which your film get dwarfed in, we will NEVER advise you to go up against a titan like Padmavati.
