Padmavati Row: Supreme Court demises plea against the film.

After facing a lot of controversies here comes some good news for the Padmavati makers. The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed another petition seeking a stay on the release of film Padmavati.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra dismissed the fresh petition that had asked an order to control the producers of the film from releasing it abroad.

While demising lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma’s petition the court said “When matter is pending for the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) consideration, how can persons holding public offices comment on whether the CBFC should issue a certificate or not? It will prejudice decision making of the CBFC,

The period drama, starring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Ranveer Singh as Allauddin Khilji, and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, has been facing protests from various groups, especially Rajput Karni Sena, for allegedly tampering historical facts.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali on various occasions had explained that there is no scene interaction whatsoever between the characters played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the film but still the film was receiving opposition.

Eventually, the makers had to shift the release date of the film. Padmavati is expected to release early next year.
