Padmavati: PROTESTS break out to condemn Bhansali’s epic drama!

Since the past year or so, it is no secret that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic drama Padmavati has faced more than its fair share of hurdles and controversies and oh, let’s not forget about the action that took place in Rajasthan.

In such a scenario, it was only natural for a filmmaker to address the problem and put the protestors to rest, which he tried via an open letter and a YouTube video, but it seems like his words have fallen on deaf ears.

And now, the riots have spread like a virus to Gujarat, where Mansinh Rathod, the leader of the Gujarat wing of Karni Sena has said that Bhansali has “distorted the historical facts in the movie.” “We have learned that there is a dream sequence in the movie wherein ‘Rani Padmavati’ has been shown romancing with ’Allaudin Khilji’. We condemn such a heinous portrayal our queen. ‘Karni Sena’ will never allow such movie to hit the theatres,”

Also, a total of 15 members of Akhand Rajputana Seva Sangh were detained by the local policemen.

But, all is not downhill for the magnum opus. In support of Padmavati, all the major directors of Bollywood are about to come together for a press conference to express their support for the film.
