Padmavati: Is Shahid Kapoor getting INSECURE about himself?

Even though an army is hell-bent on delaying (and even banning) the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, it’s showing absolutely NO signs of slowing down ahead of its release. In fact, during the 3D trailer launch of the magnum opus, Deepika Padukone said as to how the film is perhaps blessed by Rani Padmini herself and that’s why probably all is happening as per the schedule.

Since the trailer dropped in, moviegoers have been raving about how the trio (Deepika Padukone-Shahid KapoorRanveer Singh) have nailed their characters, but Shahid Kapoor, who plays the brave Rajput king Maharawal Ratan Singh, doesn’t seem to be happy with the kind of response his character has been receiving.

As per reports, Shahid has fired his PR team for being unable to create a buzz around his character and is worried about how the other two leads are getting all the attention. We sit and wonder: WHAT does the PR have to do with the audiences’ response anyway?

First of all, the trio has been equally promoted and all of them have had their fair share of screen-space in the promos. In fact, Ranveer Singh, who plays the evil ruler Alauddin Khilji, hasn’t been seen in ANY other promo apart from the trailer.

But, it seems like, even though we have got to see very little of Singh, Shahid seems to be getting insecure about who will ultimately win the audiences’ heart at the end of the show.

Mr. Kapoor, let us tell you that it’s ultimately the audience who chooses their favorite actors/actresses from the film and there’s practically nothing that a PR company can do to change their taste. Why are you blaming it on PR for the fact that the audience has probably chosen the other two over you? Why are you behaving so insecure? You seem to be feeling dwarfed in front of the other leads and there’s no reason to feel so. Ultimately the film will speak for itself!

Padmavati, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali Directorial, will hit the screens on the 1st of December!
