OMG! The Avengers just BEAT Salman Khan and Aamir Khan!

So do you actually think Avengers: Infinity War is the greatest crossover of all time? If yes, think again, and we are not talking about those tons of memes that were expectedly transpired, but something that’s actually a matter of both joy and concern. Avengers: Infinity War, released in over 2000 screens in India today, and that too in as many as four languages, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Even though it was expected to open to massive numbers, what is being reported could give Bollywood people jitters. The film is likely to open up-to 20 crore on Day 1.

Wait, that’s not all! The euphoria and catharsis inside the cinema halls suggest that Avengers: Infinity War has greater occupancy than Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai and Aamir Khan’s Dangal. With this, The Avengers have overpowered the two biggest Khans of Bollywood! And given the unanimous hysteria among fans, this superhero movie could even surpass some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters in its lifetime collections, as there’s hardly any film coming up that can be regarded as a worthy competitor.

Now, as stated above, this is a matter of both joy and concern. The biggest crossover in today’s times seems to be the invasion of Hollywood movies in India. For the cinema hall owners, it’s a delight to see the HOUSEFUL board outside the entrance gates, for fans, watching their favorite superheroes is nothing less than a visual spectacle. Having said that, it’s also concerning because the footfalls of Hindi films have drastically reduced, so much so that the shows of this week’s Hindi release, Daas Dev, had to be cancelled because of no audience. This actually raises one question, if the West doesn’t allow our films to open at the no.1 spot at the international box-office, how do we easily let their films beat ours at the domestic ticket windows?
