Oh My God! Paltan director JP Dutta finds himself in a legal trouble!

The release of J.P Dutta’s much-awaited historical war drama, Paltan is right around the corner. The film in question stars Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Chowdhury, Harshvardhan Rane, Siddhanth Kapoor, Sonu Sood and many others. But, ahead of the release of Paltan, it seems like celebrated filmmaker JP Dutta has a legal case to take care of.

Apparently, cinematographer Nigam Bomzan, who filmed eighty percent of the war drama in Ladakh, has only been paid thirty percent of the amount that he verbally agreed upon when he had a meeting with Dutta and his daughter, Nidhi. Additionally, he hasn’t even been given the credit for his work in the trailer.

Speaking about the same, Bomzan said that, “Nidhi told me that they hadn’t received the money from Zee Productions [co-producers]. But she assured me that they would clear the payment soon. After a point, she stopped replying to my messages. I have been trying to reach them since March, but there has been no response. I finally decided to take the legal route.”

To which, he added that, “It’s sad that I have to fight to get credit for my work.”

Here’s a copy of the legal notice:

When Nidhi was contacted to comment on the matter, she said that, “It has been sent directly to Zee Productions. We made payments according to the days that he has shot. We will reply to the notice once we receive it.” Talking about the credits, she added, “It’s a technical error. Both the DOPs will be credited in the film’s slate.”

While giving the production house’s side of the story, a spokesperson who represents the banner said that, “We have cleared all the payments as per the contract to J P Films.”
