Not Arjun Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao to be seen in Life in a… Metro sequel

Rajkummar Rao has proved one can succeed in the Hindi film world without Nepotism. He has an immensely promising line-up of films that include Stree, 5 Weddings, Mental Hai Kya, Made In China and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. And if sources are to be believed, he’s all set to star in the sequel to the 2007 sleeper hit, Life in a… Metro , directed by Anurag Basu. There were reports that Basu initially wanted Arjun Kapoor for the role but he had accommodated all his dates to Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat.

Now Basu is keen to have Rao on board. It’s still not clear what role the actor will be portraying but do expect him to be seen in its second part. The first film was a mature, heartfelt and complex take on love, life and relationships and how all the characters were somehow interconnected with each other. Hopefully, after burning his hands with the ambitiously crafted but hastily edited Jagga Jasoos, Basu can return to his forte of solid storytelling and stylized narrative.
