The powerhouse of talent Nawazuddin Siddiqui received appreciations by the truckloads for his performance in MOM, and will soon be seeing him in Munna Michael and then soon after that, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, a project which Nawaz Bhai is really excited for. The film also stars Bengali actress Bidita Bag in the female lead.
In a recent interview, the casting director of the film Sanjay Chouhan made a very shocking statement, which understandably did not go down well with Siddiqui.
He said “Nawaz was on the project even before its inception. Later Chitrangada Singh who was roped in opposite Nawaz left the project abruptly. So we had to again hunt for the leading lady. Keeping Nawaz in mind, all other characters were taken on board. We can’t cast fair and handsome people with Nawaz. It would look so weird. You have to take people with distinct features and personalities when pairing them with him.”
You can see what would tip Nawazuddin off.
Siddiqui took to Twitter and in his classy way, made known his displeasure with Sanjay’s statement, and also gave it back in style.
He tweeted “Thank you for making me realise that I cannot be paired along with the fair & handsome because I am dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that.”
Well, that’s how you give it back!
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was applauded for his role in Mom, will be soon seen in Munna Michael and is gearing up to set the screens on fire as Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, the Yamdooth with swag!
