It was pretty unfortunate to see that when Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati had just gone on floors at the beginning of this year, members of a religious organization, known as the Shri Rajput Karni Sena had broken down the sets of the film in Rajasthan since they claimed that the celebrated filmmaker was going to distort the facts with his film.
Fast forward to today, where we FINALLY got to see the first look poster of Padmavati featuring Deepika Padukone has been revealed, a spokesperson the religious organization, who is still presumably holding a grudge against the filmmaker for distortion of facts, has spoken up!
Speaking about the same, founder of Shri Rajput Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi has said, “Around 20 days back someone from Bhansali’s team had called and told us to see the film, but we asked them to show it to historians and intellectuals. After that, we have not heard anything from them,”
To this, Kalvi added, “We will not allow distorted facts to be shown in the film at any cost, and will see to it that the film is not screened in half of India,”
Adding to this, an activist from the organization said, “They are trying to defame Padmavati by distorting historical facts. It is not acceptable,”
Well, only time will tell as to how accurate is Bhansali’s magnum opus going to be.
