Karan Johar to direct Kareena, Ranveer and Alia in Takht?

Karan Johar is one of the busiest filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. He has multiple projects lined-up as a producer. He just had Dhadak and now has Simmba, Kalank, Student Of The Year 2 and Brahmastra coming up. So it’s understandable he may not be able to give out time to the director in him. But now it’s being reported that the script of his next film as a director is almost locked and so is the title and it’s reportedly called Takht. And it shall be one of the biggest Indian films in cinema history.

And guess what? It will have a mammoth cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. As we reported a few weeks ago, Kjo is making a two hero film and wanted Ranbir Kapoor to play the second lead but the actor refused. The story is a period drama about two brothers where the elder brother is the hero and the younger one is the villain. Ranveer is playing the role of the elder one.

A source said, Karan earlier wanted Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to play brothers but Ranbir turned it down later. He had said yes first but then he changed his mind. Karan doesn’t know if he changed his mind because it’s a negative role or because he doesn’t want to do a two-hero film with Ranveer.” As far as the ladies are concerned, Karan wants three actresses on board out of whom two will be playing the heroes’ love interests whereas the third one will portray the role of the heroes’ sister. This role is being played by Kareena and Alia is playing one of the lovers. The hunt for the third actress is still on.

The film is rumored to be as massive as the Baahubali films but will it be able to surpass the collections of the same? Let’s see!
