Is Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika in trouble?

We really had high hopes from last week’s film, Simran, which has the feisty Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role of Praful Patel. Both Hansal and Kangana, just like us, had high hopes from the film and were already calling it an another film like the blockbuster Queen. But, when the film released, we were really disappointed. Despite Kangana’s amazing performance, the film was a total dud.

But, turns out, the audiences aren’t the only ones who began to have a low opinion of Kangana post-Simran. As per sources, the makers of her next mega-budget film, Manikarnika The Queen Of Jhansi, are thinking about reducing the budget of the film because of how Simran has turned out to be.

A source close to the affair said, “The purpose why Simran was an especially vital movie for Kangana and he or she went all out to market it was as a result of the producers had been fixing the price range in keeping with the opening. Now that the movie has not carried out nicely, there’s discuss that touchdown price of the movie (with P& A) which is Rs.80-crore (approx.) could be very costly and the price range will probably be decreased as the price doesn’t appear recoverable. The query additionally arises if, post-Simran, Kangana has the stardom to recuperate the price. Historicals are very costly and folks anticipated Simran to have a Rs.20 crore weekend which didn’t occur because it barely scraped throughout with Rs.10 crore.”

The same source also said that films like the Tanu Weds Manu series and Queen, where Kangana strictly followed the vision of the director, have turned out to be hits, whereas films like Katti Batti, Rangoon and Simran, where she has played other parts other than that of an actor, have bombed at the box office miserably.

When a tabloid got in touch with the makers of Manikarnika, they denied all the rumors about reducing the budget of the film. Also, the makers added that the film is 50 percent complete and will soon begin shooting in Rajasthan.

We are wondering: “Is there more than what is being said out here?”

Guess we will only know that in time.
