Kajol has a VERY INTERESTING take on the National Anthem ruling!

Just about yesterday, we saw the evergreen Kajol Devgn take to the stage as the newly appointed brand ambassador of the Swachh Aadat, Swachh Bharat Campaign. And, as you’d expect, the media had bombarded the superstar with a lot of questions, most of which were, as you’d expect, were topical in nature.

Speaking of topical questions, how can a celebrity not be asked about the removal of the recent National Anthem screening mandate that has been making headlines recently?

When Kajol was asked to comment on the recent orders passed by the Supreme Court, she indirectly commented on the same by saying, “I can’t speak for everyone else in the country. But whenever I listen to the national anthem I automatically stand up.”

When the star was asked about the 12 percent tax that has been levied on sanitary napkins, she said, “As far as women’s sanitary napkins are concerned, there is a tax on milk, rice… So, I think the government will know what’s best and how it should be.”

Talking about how a trend of celebrities speaking up on social causes and leveraging their popularity for the greater good, she said, “I think it is a good thing, whatever may be the reasons behind this but it is the result that matters. People should stand up, they should talk about things that are important. As far as a celebrity is concerned, if I, as a layman, switch on my TV and see a celebrity face on a channel, I will pause and see what he/she is saying because I know them. That’s the biggest plus point of being a celebrity that people are familiar with you. And if they like you, they sometimes listen to you.”

Well, we agree on that.
