Here’s why Raveena Tandon’s Shab didn’t release yesterday!

Jaaniye kyu Raveena Tandon nahi chahti thi Shab aur Tubelight ki takkar? Aakhir kya hai chakkar? Click to know it better…

For all those who had been waiting for Raveena Tandon’s film Shab to release yesterday must have surely met with sheer disappointment. The story of Shab revolves around an aspiring model and his love life, which seemingly turns into a trio with complications which then keep growing throughout the film. Wonder why didn’t Shab make it to the theatres? Blame it on Salman Khan’s Eid release Tubelight! Clearly, NO ONE messes with a Salman Khan film, no matter how disastrous it might be.

Reportedly, PVR, who was responsible for the film’s distribution across the country, backed out at the last moment, since they were SO busy with Tubelight. Onir, the director of the film, also thought that it will in NO way be a wise decision to release a film around Salman’s Eid release.

Onir was quoted by a leading daily saying  “We decided to postpone the release as we were not getting enough screens. PVR did not get the time to watch the film and plan a release strategy. They were busy with Tubelight.”

When Raveena was quizzed about the reason behind picking up a role like the one she has, she said “I really wanted to do something challenging and fun. I opted for Shab because Onir is a dear friend and the character which I am playing in the film is something which I didn’t do earlier. It’s a role of a diva but has shades of grey in it and in the film I walk through a very thin line between positive and negative. Onir gave me the other role first but I wanted this role because I have not played such a character before. I was more excited to play the negative part.”

As of now, the team of Shab is waiting for a new release date.
