Cinema goers must have jumped with joy when there was an official announcement of them collaborating together for Sapna Didi.

Sapna Didi is a Vishal Bhardwaj directorial which is based on the life of a local mafia queen and her love interest (To be played by Deepika and Irrfan respectively) who plot the murder of the world’s most dreaded gangster, Dawood Ibrahim.

Wondering when will this film go on floors? Well, it is slated to go on floors as soon as Deepika wraps up Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial directorial, Padmavati.

Perena Arora of KriArj Entertainment shared some details on the project in question saying “Vishal (Bhardwaj) ji is concentrating on the music of Sapna Didi biopic right now. He is making very different sort of music. Aaj se pehle jo hua nahi hoga,”.

To which, she added “It’s a thriller. Deepika is busy with Padmavati. Once she is done with that, she will get involved in this film wholeheartedly. Now we are at the music stage but yes everything is getting ready. I think by January 15, we will start shooting.

She concluded her statement by saying Deepika Padukone has been choosing her scripts very selectively and if she has given a go ahead to this film then there must be something unique in it”,

Reportedly, Irrfan’s character is that of a local womanizing gangster who lusts for Sapna Didi but shows his character when he begins training Deepika’s Sapna Didi so that she could avenge the death of her husband from Dawood Ibrahim.
