Gold, Satyameva Jayate or YPD 3, who will score on August 15?

This Independence Day is going to be one of the busiest of all time for all the movie buffs and film critics, when as many as three films clash at the ticket windows. We have Akshay Kumar’s Gold, John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate and the Deols’ Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se. It’s a mixed bag at the movies as we have patriotism, action and comedy, all rolled into one single day.

Speaking of box-office clash, John Abraham was recently asked about clashing with good friend Akshay Kumar on August 15 and here’s what he had to say, “Akshay is an actor in Gold and I am an actor in Satyameva Jayate. So that is a producer’s decision, between Excel Entertainment and T Series. Akshay is my senior; I love him and have always wished the best for him. I am sure he will also want the same for me.” 

Well, given that there’s enough space for films to co-exist at the box-office these days, all the three have the potential to entertain the audiences, but can this happen? Can we have three big hits on one single day? If that happens, it would be a historic Independence Day indeed!
