After Padmavati, Shooting of Karan Johar’s Dhadak Stopped in Rajasthan!

After the Padmavati debacle, there is another film facing protest in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The film in trouble is Karan Johar‘s DhadakAccording to a report in TOI, shooting was stalled on Friday due to the protest by local residents. Reportedly, an FIR has been filed against film’s unit head because a part of Ambikeshwar Mahadev Temple was damaged during the shoot. While shooting was going on at Jagat Shiromani Temple and Panna Meena Ka Kund, the crew members have parked the vehicles and vanity vans near the Ambikeshwar Mahadev Temple.

Talking about the damage and protest, one of the locals told TOI,

One of their vans hit the chhajja of the temple and it got damaged. We don’t have any problem with them shooting in Jaipur but they have no right to damage our historic temple. I submitted a police complaint against the film’s unit head for damaging the historic property at Amer Police Station.

Earlier this year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati‘s shoot too was stalled in Rajasthan for different reasons. That film is still awaiting its release. It is expected that the film might release on February 9, 2018.

Dhadak on the other hand will see a July 6, 2018 release.
