Deepika and Vidhu Vinod Chopra together?
Now that Deepika Padukone is back after living the Hollywood dream, she is prepping up to don the persona of Queen Padmavati for her next, with national award winning director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But what will the actress do after that?
Since she was on a tight schedule for xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, Deepika had hardly signed any projects back home. Unfortunately, her Hollywood debut did not get the expected response. Putting all of it behind, she gears on as Rani Padmavati, the 13-14th century Queen.
So, what’s the next gig for our Mastaani? As far as her stature and acting skills are concerned, it is impossible to think that she wouldn’t have been offered any movie after her return. Recent sightings of her around filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s residence suggests that she might be teaming up with him for her next stint! She was spotted driving away from Chopra’s home while she was on call.
But it seems like Deepika wasn’t alone, as shortly after, known names from the producer’s inner circle such as Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vishal Bharadwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane and even Kiran Rao left his humble abode as well.
The last we know of her is regarding a screen test for the role of Ishaan Khattar’s sister in the Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s upcoming film, Beyond The Clouds. But it seems like Mr. Majidi had something else in mind, which consequently caused her to not be considered any further for the project. However, the filmmaker is writing a script as he has expressed his desires to work with him. We are not surprised to hear that.
