Box Office War: It’s now Secret Superstar vs Golmaal Again!

Before the inevitable box office divide between Secret Superstar and Golmaal Again, it’s well known that clashes have always turned out to be ugly in B-Town and this year itself has been the proof of that with as many as four films releasing on the same day.  But, by seeing as to how the two films in question are doing, this clash might just have a happy ending.

On Friday, when Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar finally went head-on, the ticket counters raked in as much as 39.44 crores on that day out of the two films, which has been the highest clash figure of this year.

Before Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan took to the stage, here’s how the previous big clashes have affected the movies on their first Fridays over time.

Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani: 21 crores and 12.80 crores respectively  – Total 33.80 crores

Bang Bang vs Haider: 27.54 crores vs 6.14 crores – Total 33.68 crores

Raees vs Kaabil:  20.54 crores and 10.43 crores – Total 30.97 crores

Jab Tak Hai Jaan vs Son Of Sardar: 15.23 crores and 10.82 crores – Total 26.75 crores

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil vs Shivaay: 13.30 crores and 10.24 crores – Total 23.54 crores

Rustom vs Mohenjo Daro: 14.11 crores and 8.87 crores – Total 22.98 crores

As you can see, the second big clash grosser doesn’t even come close to what Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgn have brought in.

While on the other hand, after counting in Saturday’s figures, the total collections of Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar come stand at 22.60 crores and 59.14 crores respectively.

Wondering why is Khan lagging behind by such a huge margin? Don’t forget that Secret Superstar has HALF the screen count of the Rohit Shetty directorial.
