Baadshaho vs Shubh Mangal Saavdhan: Who’s the winner?

One of the most awaited films of the year, Baadshaho has finally made it to the theaters. The heist film stars Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cuz, Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal and Sanjay Mishra. The film has raked in a total of 43.3 crores in its opening weekend. The film is being screened across 2800 screens in India and 442 screens overseas.

Here are the day-wise earnings of the gangster story.

Day 1 (Friday, September 1) – 12.60 Crores

Day 2 (Saturday, September 2) – 15.60 crores

Day 3 (Sunday, September 3) – 15.10 Crores

Total: 43.30 Crores

The film has been made on a budget of 65 crores and the makers had spent an additional 15 crores for promotions and advertising, making the total cost of the film to be around 80 crores.

The heist flick is facing tough competition from the Ayushmann Khurrana–Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, which also opened on the ticket counters on September 1 alongside Ajay Devgn’s film. The film, which is being shown in 1650 screens worldwide (1400 in India + 250 overseas), has minted a total of 13.60 crores in its first three days.

Here’s what the film made during its opening weekend:

Day 1 (Friday, September 1) – 2.64 crores

Day 2 (Saturday, September 2) – 5.5 crores

Day 3 (Sunday, September 3) – 5.75 crores

Total: 13.89 crores.

The film has been made on a budget of 24 crores, which also includes their cost of promotions and advertising. The film should make a total of 35 crores to be called a hit.
