Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Padnekar (of ‘Dum Laga ke Haisha’ fame), have reportedly teamed up for Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming project titled ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, which is a light hearted comedy, said to be based on Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The film is scheduled to be going on floors in December.
Neeraj Pandey confirms the news saying, “I am looking at ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘Crack’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar have been finalized for the film ‘Toilet : Ek Prem Katha’. ”
The fresh pairing of Akshay and Bhumi Padnekar in the film is something which is bound to excite the audiences. The duo is the latest to join the ongoing trend of casting never-seen-before actors on screen in Bollywood. The pairing of Sidharth Malhotra-Katrina Kaif in ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor in ‘Befikre’ has created a lot of buzz.
For Bhumi this is a big break to work with the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar especially after reports that her second film with Ayushman Khurrana titled ‘Manmarziyan’ was going to be shelved and the faith of that film was unknown.
