The trailer of Ajay Devgn’s home production ‘Parched’ was launched yesterday by the star himself. This film is the first non-mainstream film produced by the actor’s company, Ajay Devgn Films. Directed by ‘Teen Patti’ director Leena Yadav, ‘Parched’ stars Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Adil Hussain in lead roles. The film is based in a village in northwest India and sheds light on the trials and difficulties that rural women in these areas face on an everyday basis. Reportedly, ‘Parched’ has been screened at 24 international film festivals and has won 18 awards.
At the trailer launch event yesterday, giving Ajay company was Tannishta Chatterjee, who recently starred with cricketer Brett Lee in the Indo-Australian production ‘UnIndian’ and Surveen Chawla who was last seen in ‘Hate Story 2’ along with the films director Leena Yadav. Ajay was all praise for the women-centric film and said that he wishes to support more such films as a producer.
A few days back, ‘Parched’ was in the news due to the unfortunate leak of the sex scene between Radhika Apte and Adil Hussain. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on 23rd September, 2016.
