Silsila is still considered as one of the most controversial films of all time. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rekha and Sanjeev Kumar the film was loosely inspired by the alleged real-life love triangle of its three stars, Amitabh-Jaya-Rekha.

Directed by Muzaffar Ali the film was the adaptation of Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada. The film had some best performance given by the Diva. The 63-year-old actress was praised a lot for her acting and she even won many awards for the same. She was even awarded the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actress for the film.

Khoon Bhari Maang
Apart from the parallel cinema, Rekha took to some serious acting with Khoon Bhari Maang. Directed by Rakesh Roshan the film showed the drastic transformation of Rekha from a simple housewife to a woman full of revenge and anger.

Koi Mil Gaya
In 2003 Rekha featured as Hrithik Roshan’s mother in Rakesh Roshan’s 2003 sci-fi drama Koi Mil Gaya. The film was appreciated a lot financially and critically and was the most talked about film of that year. She received another Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Filmfare for her performance.
