5 Indian-born International stars you should know about!

Here are the Indian stars who are secretly conquering the world

There are many Indian artists who have been received very well globally and hence made their mark on the world. From Irrfan Khan to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, Indian actors have made a name by showing off their acting chops and now are taking on Hollywood in their own way. However, Bollywood stars aren’t the only one who are making India proud globally. These artists are making a mark in the fields of acting, comedy, music and fashion with their hard work, talent, and determination. Here are the list of artists and their incredible work which they have done on an international level.

Ali Fazal

The suave Ali Fazal is marking his presence on his own globally. He started off his career by doing a cameo in Furious 7. The actor went on doing another full-length film as the lead in an Indo-American production For Here Or To Go. The film released in the US to packed houses since the film deals with the problems faced by immigrants in the USA. The biggest opportunity came to Ali in the form of Victoria and Abdul where he is playing the title character of Abdul with veteran Hollywood actress Judi Dench. The film is a British period drama and slated for a worldwide release in September 2017.

Vir Das

Actor-Comedian Vir Das is India’s answer to all the comedians of the world. Das is the first ever Indian to have his own original show on Netflix by the name Abroad Understanding which is still trending on Netflix since its April launch. Vir Das is also touted to be the first Indian to go on world tour with a comedy show. The tour, titled The Boarding Das World Tour will take Vir to 20 countries across 6 continents with more to be added in future. Das has already completed his US leg and is geared up to own the European countries with his no-holds-barred show. All of his shows in the past under his company, Weirdass Comedy has been a massive success globally and are still out there, exploring every nook and corner of the world with his sheer talent and wits.

 

Richa Chadha


The versatile Richa Chadha is on a spree of exploring all her talent one at a time. She isn’t just a good actress but has also turned into a successful producer with her first maiden production titled, Khoon Aali Chithi, a Punjabi short film that released recently. The film received critical acclaim at international film festivals. Richa is also doing an international film called Love Sonia which is directed by Tabrez Noorani and produced by David Womark. The film has a very interesting ensemble cast which consists of Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Frieda Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher amongst others. It’s slated to release by the end of this year.

 

Ritesh Batra


For Mumbai-born director Ritesh Batra, directing an English language film wasn’t necessarily a goal. But after the success of his Hindi debut, “The Lunchbox” which premiered in Critics’ Week at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, offers started to pour in. The Indian director went on to make ‘The Sense of an Ending‘ and ‘Our Souls at Night’. Currently, the director is busy with the post-production of The Sense of an Ending and hopes to direct a script of his own soon.

Niladri Kumar

Sitar maestro Niladri Kumar has revolutionised the way the sitar was played by creating his own instrument called the ‘zitar’. He has collaborated with Grammy Award winner Mickey Hart for his US Tour. Niladri has performed at many prestigious festivals and concerts, both solo and together with international musicians such as Jazz guitar legend John McLaughlin.
