The failure of Solo causes a MAJOR loss to Disney!

For as long as we can remember, each and every film in which the eponymous entertainment giant Disney has been involved in, Including the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal, has minted truckloads of cash, be it in India or overseas!

But, the Han Solo-spinoff Star Wars movie, officially titled Solo: A Star Wars Story, clearly turned out to be an exception. After opening to not-so-great reviews, the film scored a total of 148.2 million US dollars on its opening weekend. Which roughly translates to approximately 1000 crores.

Admittedly, that’s a LOT of money for us, but keep in mind that Solo is quite an expensive film and even after the fact that the film did not turn out to be as good as it was expected, it was estimated that the film will rake in approximately 300 million. Additionally, the numbers that Solo has achieved has been the lowest for a Star Wars movie since Revenge Of The Sith.

When a film flops, a lot of people lose money. And in this case, its producer, Disney is reported to lose somewhere between 50-80 million. (Do the math, that too is a LOT of cash down the drain!)

As of now, the film stands on a figure of approximately 264.2 million and is expected to be taken off screens when it nears a figure of 400.

Where do you think Solo: A Star Wars Story will end its not-so-much-of-a-dream run? Let us know!
