Exclusive: Will SRK’s Raees be banned?

The latest controversy seems to be around SRK’s upcoming movie, ‘Raees.’ Shahrukh Khan plays the role of a gangster/bootlegger and although we would enjoy watching the superstar play that role, we wonder if the story is loosely based on infamous gangster Abdul Latif from Gujarat?

In reality, Abdul Latif with Dawood Ibrahim’s help, established himself as the kingpin of the Gujarat underworld. Latif also indulged in kidnapping, gambling, extorting money from builders and businessmen and accepted contracts for murders. His operations extended across Gujarat, Daman, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. He was also involved in 1993 Blasts of Ahmedabad and Surat and later escaped to Pakistan with Dawood Ibrahim.

A little keeda tells us that superstar Shahrukh Khan is playing Abdul Latif in the movie and if rumours are to be believed SRK might project him as a businessman and a messiah!

Immortalizing public dreaded gangsters has become a famous genre in Indian cinema and every superstar wants to play lead. From Akshay Kumar to John Abraham and even Viveik Oberoi played these roles before but with SRK there will always be controversies and we guess political parties will play vital roles asking for bans on ‘Raees!’
