Sanjay Dutt’s Sadak 2 to be a Tamil film rip-off?

We were the first ones to report that Sanjay Dutt is all set to recreate the magic of his 1991 blockbuster Sadak with a sequel where none other than Alia Bhatt will be essaying the role of his daughter. One would expect this to be an original concept with a never-before-seen story line and be an answer to the hit Hollywood flick Taken.

Our Khabri Keeda dropped in the news that the concept won’t be original at all!

Turns out, during the 30th Anniversary celebrations of Vishesh Films where we even saw Sanjay Dutt, the lead actress of the original 1991 blockbuster Pooja Bhatt called in a small meeting, which also included Dutt.

What we know from the meeting is that the makers have decided that Sadak 2 will be inspired by Kamal Hassan’s critically acclaimed, award winning 1993 film, Mahanadi.

Mahanadi is based on the life of Krishnaswamy (Kamal Hassan), who after being set free from a prison where he was wrongfully put, finds out that his son is a pawn to a corrupt businessman and is daughter Mahanadi has landed up as a prostitute in Sonagachi, a red-light area in Kolkata.

Although not an original, but it will be interesting to see how Sadak 2 lives up to the name of the original and the Tamil flick
