Ever since ‘Mastizaade’ bombed at the box office, director Milap Zaveri’s career is going through a rough phase. The filmmaker, who had announced his next project at the trailer launch of adult comedy ‘Mastizaade’ has been replaced from the same! Yes, Milap is no longer directing the family comedy, ‘Mubaraka’.
Why was the filmmaker removed from the project? Our Khabri keeda informed us that the producers were not too hopeful about Milap after Sunny Leone starrer ‘Mastizaade’s box office debacle and hence decided to replace him. After writing the script for ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ and directing ‘Mastizaade,’ both of which released at the beginning of this year, people started relating him to the adult comedy genre. (Not to forget that he has also scripted sex comedies such as the three parts of the ‘Masti’ franchise!) That’s perhaps a reason why the film’s makers didn’t find him to be the most suitable person to direct a family comedy drama. (Oops! Is that why Milap has come up with a thriller to get rid of the sex-comedy label?) For the uninitiated, Milap’s short thriller film ‘Raakh’ released on 6th November.
Who has stepped into Milap’s shoes then? As per our Khabri keeda, Anees Bazmee has been signed for the project and has already started shooting. Bazmee is best known for directing comedy films and has hilarious flicks like ‘Welcome’ (2007), ‘Welcome Back’ (2015), ‘No Entry’ (2005) and ‘Singh Is Kinng’ (2008) in his kitty. That surely raised our expectations about ‘Mubaraka’!
