Abhishek Bachchan’s Manmarziyaan & JP Dutta’s Paltan to collide

We all know Abhishek Bachchan made his Hindi film debut with J.P. Dutta’s Refugee in 2000. The actor and the director went on to collaborate for two more films, LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan. The duo was all set to reunite for their fourth film together, Paltan, a multi-starrer war drama, set against the backdrop of the Indo-China conflict. However, everyone was baffled when Abhishek walked out of Paltan at the last moment, leaving the makers hanging in the balance.

Although, no one really knows what the reason behind this drastic step was, sources stated the actor wasn’t really impressed with the way his role shaped up in the film, and the other actors had a longer screen time. Now, the Yuva actor is gearing up for the release of his next, Manmarziyaan, where he’ll portray the role of a Sikh for the first time. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film is all set to release on the 7th of September, 2018. But wait, that also happens to be the release date of J.P. Dutta’s Paltan.

So on one hand, we have Abhishek Bachchan’s film, and on the other hand is the film he walked out of. Now it shall be intriguing to see which film fares better at the box-office.
